The USAID CATALYZE APEP Accelerator has been designed to promote the inclusive growth of social and impact startup enterprises within Latin America & the Caribbean, leading toimproved socioeconomic and climate impacts, employment, and productivity.

Requirements

Mandatory criteria:

Country of operation

You must operate in one of the countries where we have an acceleration program.

Proven traction

Annual sales between USD $55,000 and $2,000,000* and a customer base that has increased by at least 20% in the last 2 years and/or an increase in brand presence in marketing or sales channels over the same period.

*For Barbados: Companies with annual sales over USD $55K are ideal, but if your company generates impact and has sales between USD $25K and $55K, we still encourage you to apply!

Environmental/social impact

A business model with an environmental or social purpose and/or sustainable practices integrated into acquisition, production, sales, or marketing processes.

Key Impact Areas

Non-mandatory criteria that will prioritize your company if you meet any of them:

Gender equity

Commitment to female participation and leadership, or inclusive and diverse practices.

Diverse leadership

Company led by women, indigenous people, or individuals from underrepresented sectors.

Benefits for informal sector actors

Products/services that improve livelihoods, productivity, or economic outcomes in the informal economy.

The program

The Kinesis methodology, with a duration of 10-12 intensive weeks, is designed to comprehensively accelerate startups aiming to create real impact. Beyond training, we promote scenarios for triple impact and collective action. In training, we focus on strengthening your impact-driven business model, integrating key market data and financing processes. Additionally, we work on triple impact scenarios, where we help you deepen not only the social and environmental impact of your company but also the impact within your own team. And as if that weren't enough, collective action is where we really connect the dots: we bring you into spaces where you can engage with other ecosystem players, fostering business and investment partnerships that can be a game-changer. The best part is that you won't be alone on this journey. You'll have the support of coaches and experts who will join your team to drive those indicators that make the difference.
